The Little Gem Mine in Jefferson County, Montana is my favorite amethyst locality and I had to choose a world-class specimen form there to immortalize in painting. This specimen has a brilliant zones amethyst scepter head, with a dark smoke-morion stem. The painting was created using traditional watercolor materials (mineral-based painted and sable brushes) on 100% cotton watercolor paper. The dimensions of this piece are 9”x12” and fit standard frames that size.
